Nothing I have
Is truly mine?
Though I toil
And build
And sweat
To create a ship

I am not allowed to mourn
When the sea swallows it up
On its virgin cruise?

Nine months of labor
Thirty years of life
And I’m not allowed to say
“My son was taken
From me?”

Nothing I have
Is truly mine?

I can’t even chose
I don’t want this life?I cannot choose
when to leave?

Then who am I
What am I doing here
Why do I cry
And bleed
And love and lose
And feel all of these

And all for who?

And if I can’t even choose
When I want to go
Whose life is this
