CHEERS TO GREAT FRIENDS AND ZIGNI

Lamb meat, peppered salad

And giant white injera

Zigni is three things awesome

All brought together

 

The venue is Asmara

The starter

Black Eritrean coffee

That’s oh-so-interesting

Even when the cup’s totally empty!

Then boredom sets in

As all await the coming

Of Zigni

And when at last it arrives

Everyone gets focused!

Zigni served steamy

Makes people happy

Hands get greedy

And dudes get romantic

Zigni is perfect time

To gossip

And shock somebody

Just so they forget to eat

And you have more to yourself!

So whatever you do

Keep your eyes on the plate

Cuz  when others get arguing

The rest of us carry on

And it means all the difference

At the end of the night

Cuz while some sit stuffed and full

Others stare at the table

Reminiscing what they missed

Xigni is an awesome experience

That everyone should try sometime

Cuz great food brings friends together

And makes crazy people

An ecstatic lot!

Weekly Writing Challenge: Multimedia Storytelling

For this week’s challenge, let’s celebrate and use the online tools we have and create a multimedia post: it can be a story, a photo essay, a poem, an experimental and sensory piece, and anything else. The one requirement is to include at least three elements:

1. text
2. a minimum of one image
3. a third media component —  audio, video, gallery, slideshow, blockquotes, styled text, etc.

You can include more than three elements, of course!
