Back in high school, I happened to be in classes where it was fashionable to not know too much. You got bad judge-y looks if you were the person raising your hand up to answer everything and with time, even when the teacher picks you out to answer something you very well know, you feign not knowing just so classmates won’t say you’re making the rest of them look bad.
I have learnt that you cannot care too much for what people- even friends and family – say about you. The first person you must be true to is yourself.
When you express yourself and let yourself be the best that you can be, you always feel happy and warm inside. Not only that but you are also an inspiration to someone else even if you don’t know that.
If you come out of your shy shell and embrace the fabulous you and show her to the world, so someone else gets the courage to not hide or be ashamed of themselves. And that is always a beautiful thing.
Wear that glamorous dress that has everyone staring at your awesome, in-control self. Wear those heels that have people know you run your own world. Excel in every single thing you put your mind to no matter people sneering that you’re-a-know-it-all.
There is no shame in having a wide knowledge and showing that you do. There is no shame in winning at everything you put your mind to and there is definitely no shame in being beautiful, fabulous, talented and smart all in one.
Have a lovely week n be awesome people! 🙂
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
